Return To Our Events : Fall Gala 2017

THE EVENINGS LINE-UP:

NBC’s Bruce Beck was the Master of Ceremony, and he was masterful! Opera singer and double lung transplant patient, Charity Sunshine Tilleman-Dick regaled the room with her story and with song.

Transplant coordinator Carlo Baltazar sang “Raise You Up” while a slideshow of patients, pre- and post-transplant, played. Applause was heard throughout the room as guests spotted their loved ones’ photos on the video screens.

Boomer Esiason, football legend and broadcasting giant, was honored for his generous support and contributions to the Lung Transplant Project. Also honored was Nurse Coordinator, Nilani Ravichandran for her outstanding commitment to our lung transplant community.

The evening’s highlight was the guest appearance of the one-and-only Patti LaBelle! She took to the stage with her signature song, “Lady Marmalade” and guests flooded the dance floor to take photos and videos, as she followed up with more hits.

The exciting evening drew to a close as ‘John Travolta’ led us on the dance floor, reminding all in the transplant community that we’re grateful to be “Stayin’ Alive.”

The selfless giving that evening will fund the research that will someday save the lives of lung transplant patients worldwide.

We are the LUNG TRANSPLANT PROJECT and we are determined to make a difference.

Wonderful video. Sorry I missed the Gala. Seeing Nilani repeatedly was meaningful for me. She was my ombudsman for 8 years post transplant.

I feel extremely lucky to have had Dr Sonnet as my surgeon for a very difficult bilateral transplant. What a skilled surgeon and devoted professional.

Dr Arcasoy is just the best Pulmonologist. He is responsible for captaining the ship. I feel very fortunate that he is my physician.

Finally, the transplant program has a large cast of pulmonlogists, thoracic surgeons, PAs, NPs, RNs, Dietitian, psychiatrist, social workers, PFT technicians, respiratory therapists, clerical workers, and the huge staff on the transplant floor in Milstein.

I will make every effort to attend the Fall Gala this year.

    Thanks again to everyone.
